Leading independent Australian law firm Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) welcomes energy and resources law specialist Nick Thorne to the partnership. Nick is based in the firm’s Brisbane office.
He brings over 20 years’ experience as an energy, resources and corporate lawyer, and has advised on numerous high-profile mining M&A matters and projects in Queensland. His appointment will further deepen the firm’s strong presence in the energy and resources market. Nick’s mining and oil and gas experience spans both Australia and Papua New Guinea. He is one of very few dual Australian and PNG qualified lawyers with extensive resources experience. Nick was most recently Head of Legal - Asia Pacific at Barrick Gold Corporation, one of the world’s leading gold and copper mining companies.
