Lee is a leading arbitration and litigation lawyer, specialising in large-scale complex disputes in a range of industries including renewable energy, natural resources, oil & gas and construction. 

She has significant knowledge and experience in the conduct of arbitrations and has advised clients in arbitrations conducted under many of the leading arbitral rules including the ICC, ACICA, DIAC, BCDR-AAA, Resolution Institute and UNCITRAL Rules. 

Lee also advises investors and sovereign state parties on investment protection under bilateral and multilateral treaties, including the potential enforcement of bilateral treaties and corporate structuring with a view to optimising investment protection. 

She also advises on Australian sanctions law. 

Lee has practised in London, Paris and Australia, and was previously a Law Clerk to the Honourable Justice Hayne AC KC at the High Court of Australia.

She holds two master of laws degrees (from the University of Oxford and from Queen Mary University of London, School of International Arbitration) and is co-author of the text Decoding International Arbitration: Ninety-Nine Propositions (2022). 

She is a member of the ACICA Professional Advisory Council, the ACICA Rules Committee, ICC Australia, and the Australian & New Zealand Sports Law Association.

Lee has a growing interest in Sports Law and is an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Papua New Guinea

Advised the State of Papua New Guinea in respect of its dealings with a West Australian investor regarding the Pasca A field.* 

Gorgon Project

Two A$2 billion international arbitrations (ICC in Singapore and UNCITRAL in Perth) arising out of the construction of an LNG loading jetty in Western Australia.*

Ichthys LNG Project

Acted for INPEX in relation to disputes with its South Korean contractor regarding offshore facilities for the Ichthys LNG Project including Singapore seated ICC arbitration.*

State of Victoria

Disputes arising out of both the Suburban Rail Loop and Metro Tunnel projects.*

Agnico Eagle/Fosterville Gold Mine

Defended common law nuisance proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria.*  

Investment treaty advice (Chinese mining company)

Provided advice regarding investment into Brazil. Also provided advice in respect of a contemplated acquisition structure of an investment in the Philippines to ensure adequate investment treaty protection.*
