Peter Slattery Founder

Peter is one of the founding partners of Johnson Winter & Slattery.

Peter was the managing partner of the firm from 1996 - 2021 and was responsible for the national development of the firm, ranging from the opening of new offices, recruitment of senior partners, client base development and the building out of the firm's support functions.

Earlier in his career Peter practised in the corporate advisory area having been the lead adviser in numerous M&A transactions, capital raisings and major projects in a range of industries, including oil & gas, biotechnology, agriculture, insurance and wines & beverages. He has also held a number of board positions in the not-for-profit sector and has been involved in professional services management for over 20 years.

Peter is highly regarded for the strength of his commercial acumen and has been recognised as one of Australia's leading law firm CEOs.

Now in a newly created ‘Founder’ role, Peter continues to engage with the firm’s  clients, staff and external organisations as the firm’s senior statesman.

Peter is currently Chairperson of the Legal Services Commission as appointed by the SA government in January 2022.
