After six months, the merger regime continues to see a large number of deals notified, over 90 per cent of deals being cleared and the ACCC making decisions within the statutory time periods. The story for clients, however, continues to be extended preparation times, responding to comprehensive information requests and increased costs, all of which affect deal timeline.
The ACCC also blocked the first deal under the new regime.
