We partner on strategic projects that are aimed at delivering wide social impact.
We work with strategic litigation organisations, such as Justice and Equity Centre (formerly Public Interest Advocacy Centre), assisting in the preparation and formulation of various projects.
These projects have addressed critical issues, including refugee health rights and the use of restraint matters for vulnerable people and refugees. We have also supported First Nations peoples in matters relating to water and housing rights, as well as individuals facing legal issues arising out of stolen generation circumstances.
Waminda
Waminda is a community-controlled health organisation dedicated to providing comprehensive and culturally appropriate health services to Aboriginal communities. It offers a range of support programs for families facing grief and loss, homelessness, domestic and family violence and alcohol and substance abuse. We support Waminda across a variety of matters, including corporate, finance, employment, intellectual property, taxation, real estate and disputes. We recently assisted Waminda with contracts and agreements relating to the establishment of a Birthing on Country Centre.
Inner Melbourne Community Legal
We provided specialist class actions advice to Inner Melbourne Community Legal, assisting 128 vulnerable class members, many of whom were immigrants or didn’t speak English. Our support enabled the class members to understand their options and the procedural steps available to them. We also provided practical assistance in completing forms and ensuring that court deadlines were met.
