Extensive experience across rail, air, ports and road transport.
We have extensive experience within the transport sector, including rail, air and road transport.
Our experience extends across all modes of transport including freight and passenger railway networks, associated railway infrastructure such as rolling stock and rail tracks, private and public transport assets, road networks, air transportation and airport operations, shipping lines and associated infrastructure such as port and bulk terminals. Our practitioners are experienced in providing advice and acting in many areas of the rail and road industry.
We also have significant experience in advising in the aviation industry. Our clients recognise that our 'experience in the aviation industry is hard to replicate' (Asia Pacific Legal 500, 2015). We have played a key role for many years in advancing strategically significant joint ventures for our major aviation clients and their affiliates by obtaining regulatory approvals in multiple international jurisdictions. We also acted for our aviation clients, over many years, in ground-breaking Australian class action proceedings in Australia and elsewhere overseas. We undertake other commercial, corporate and employment work for aviation clients.
We have particular experience in advising port facility and container terminal owners and operators about port access and associated regulatory issues, financing matters and corporate and commercial issues. We have also advised a major shipping line on competition and access issues in relation to acquisitions of port and container terminal facilities.
