Recent trends in ACCC SOI informal merger clearance decisions

Legal guides Written by Sar Katdare (Partner)

We are pleased to share with you the 8th edition of our report on recent trends in informal merger clearance decisions made by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) that involve a Statement of Issues (SOI).

The report provides a complete statistical analysis of ACCC merger clearance decisions where a SOI has been published.

Some of the latest trends include: more deals being opposed, red lights becoming more difficult to overcome, ACCC not accepting any post-SOI remedies in 2023 and timeframes remaining well above average.
