Simon Haddy has joined Johnson Winter & Slattery as a new corporate partner, following a lateral hire from Herbert Smith Freehills. Simon will be based in the firm’s Melbourne office, from 5 August 2019.
Simon specialises in the infrastructure, logistics and utilities sectors, supporting corporates and financial investors on structuring and executing their strategic transactions. He advises on all aspects of transactions and investments, including structure and strategy, public and private acquisitions, joint ventures, capital raisings and management arrangements.
Managing Partner Peter Slattery said Simon’s experience made him a great fit for the firm and he was well equipped to lead the development of our corporate team in Melbourne.
“Johnson Winter & Slattery has been building a strong reputation in the market advising on complex disputes and transactions, which strongly aligns with the nature of Simon’s practice. Joining a 15 partner corporate team, Simon will further strengthen our capabilities and help us grow our practice within Victoria’s financial investment, infrastructure and utilities sectors,” added Peter.
Simon brings 20 years’ experience advising on corporate transactions. Most recently, Simon has advised on the US$17 billion mega-merger between Amcor and Bemis, a transaction that will create the world’s largest consumer packaging company.
Simon said that he was looking forward to joining the team.
