JWS promotes seven new partners and 18 lawyers

Leading independent law firm Johnson Winter & Slattery has promoted seven new partners and five new special counsel, effective from 1 July. These promotions follow the appointment of 13 Senior Associates earlier this year.

Managing Partner Jeremy Davis said the firm was excited to introduce this next generation of partners.

Johnson Winter & Slattery’s new partner promotes for 2022 include:

  • Jennifer Dean, Competition/IP & IT: Jennifer is a highly regarded competition and regulatory lawyer whose practice has a strong technology, media and telecommunications focus. She advises clients on ACCC merger clearance processes, responses to ACCC inquiries and investigations, anti-competitive conduct issues, cartel matters, joint ventures and consumer law issues.
  • Felicity Karageorge, Dispute Resolution: Felicity is a commercial dispute resolution lawyer with extensive experience in large-scale general commercial litigation with a developing focus in major class actions. She also acts in complex and sensitive employment, insolvency and taxation disputes and has extensive experience in matters involving directors’ duties, continuous disclosure and regulatory issues.
  • Antoinette Migliorino, Dispute Resolution: Antoinette is a dispute resolution lawyer specialising in advising a broad range of corporate clients in relation to the strategic management and resolution of complex disputes. She regularly acts for clients in the energy and resources and commercial property sectors.
  • Rena Solomonidis, Restructuring & Dispute Resolution: Rena specialises in commercial litigation with a focus on corporate insolvency, namely pursuing claims by external administrators from national insolvencies, class actions including prosecuting and defending claims, as well as litigating general commercial disputes. Rena is active in the industry and has held leadership positions at Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria and the Law Institute of Victoria.
  • Daniel Thompson, Telecommunications & Technology: Dan is a leading technology and telecommunications lawyer with over a decade’s experience advising clients that include Big Techs, telcos, banks, and other large enterprise. Dan has been a close advisor to major fixed and mobile carriers for over a decade, as well as for many large enterprise customers on their telecommunications and data centre needs.
  • Eve Thomson, Dispute Resolution: Eve has broad experience in the conduct and resolution of complex disputes. She has experience in various types of commercial disputes including actions under the Corporations Act, contractual disputes, negligence, insolvency litigation, fraud recovery, workplace disputes, fraud prosecution, and judicial review.
  • Andrew Turner, Corporate/M&A: Andrew is a corporate lawyer with extensive experience across a range of domestic and cross-border matters, in particular private equity and venture capital transactions, foreign investment, private treaty M&A and corporate restructures. He has experience advising a number of private equity sponsors and major corporates on a range of domestic and cross-border acquisitions and disposals.
