SYDNEY, 22 April 2022: Leading independent law firm Johnson Winter & Slattery has advised Pipeclay Lawson Ltd on its sale of four Australian real estate assets to global investment firm Hines.
Under this agreement, Pipeclay Lawson has sold four warehouses in Sydney and Brisbane for $211.5 million as the buyer made its first series of industrial property acquisitions in Australia.
Three of the properties are in large land sites in western Sydney (68 Anzac Street, Chullora; 13 Ferndell Street, South Granville; and 128 Russell Street, Emu Plains) and the fourth is in Brisbane’s Trade Coast precinct (55 Brownlee Street, Pinkenba).
The Johnson Winter & Slattery team was led by Partner David Colenso, working alongside Special Counsel Morgen Kerry and Senior Associate Rita Bradshaw.
“This deal broke records in the industrial market and is one of the largest transactions of its kind so far in 2022,” said David Colenso. “There is currently a huge demand for quality warehousing assets, both in Australia and globally. Pipeclay is a sophisticated investor, who has demonstrated astute market insight and timing. We look forward to supporting Pipeclay in future acquisitions.”
