Johnson Winter & Slattery announced today that highly regarded planning and environment lawyer, Samantha Daly, has joined the firm as a partner based in the Sydney office.
In making the announcement, Managing Partner, Peter Slattery, said he was pleased with the deep expertise and knowledge that Samantha will bring to the firm. “The appointment of Samantha introduces a new practice area to our firm which supports our corporate, property, construction and resources practice areas.” He continued, “Samantha brings significant environmental and planning experience to the firm, and is particularly active advising mining companies concerning their operations and mine development proposals in NSW.”
Samantha joins JWS from McCullough Robertson in Sydney where she was a member of that firm’s planning and environment practice. Prior to joining McCulloughs she practised for a number of years at Minter Ellison.
Samantha is an environmental and planning specialist, and in addition to her mining company client base, she is also the primary legal advisor to the NSW Minerals Council concerning environmental regulation of the mining industry. She commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Johnson Winter & Slattery as the firm's first planning and environment partner. I believe my skills and experience in the practice area of planning and environmental law will complement what is already a very strong national service offering to the firm's clients, particularly in the resources, property development and education industry sectors.”
