Paul is a litigator specialising in complex large scale commercial and corporate litigation and class actions. He acts for major corporates and board directors.

Paul is currently defending a class action filed against RCR and its former CEOs following its collapse in 2018.  He also successfully resolved class action proceedings against Vasco Trustees regarding misleading and deceptive conduct claims by the investors seeking recovery of funds invested in the collapsed IPO wealth.

Paul also has specialist experience representing high profile board directors and senior executives in a range of regulatory investigations and prosecutions by ASIC, AFP and CDPP, and in related liquidators claims and civil proceedings, including class actions. Paul has acted for directors and executives of Allco Funds Management Ltd, ABC Childcare, Leightons Holdings Ltd, Hastie Group Limited, Mariner Corporation Limited, Arrium Limited and the Star Entertainment Group.

Acting for a multinational shipping conglomerate defending an oppression claim brought by a group of funded minority shareholders concerning the operation of a major Queensland coal mine. The Plaintiffs are seeking significant damages in excess of $100M.

CMC Markets

Acting for retail investors in a class action against CMC Group over its conduct in offering CFDs. CMC is one of the largest online platforms for CFD trading and the claim involves allegations of misleading and systemic unconscionable conduct by CMC in respect of its issue of highly leveraged, complex and risky financial products to retail investors.

Arrium Group

Engaged by the former Acting Treasurer of Arrium Australia Limited (Administrators Appointed) in respect of ongoing public examinations by the administrators into the collapse of the Arrium Group, and any related actions.

Swann Insurance (Aust) Pty Ltd

Federal Court Class Action proceedings against Swann Insurance (Aust) Pty Ltd and Insurance Australia Limited relating to the sale of add-on insurance.

Australian Pacific LNG Pty Ltd

Acting for Australia Pacific LNG Pty Limited in defence of a claim commenced by C3 IoT, Inc and C3 IoT International, Inc in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and in a cross-claim relating to misrepresentations allegedly made by the Plaintiffs as to the proficiency of the platform to ingest data, and related matters.

RCR Tomlinson Ltd

Acting for the Former Director/Interim CEO in relation to the $200M plus collapse of RCR Tomlinson in 2018 and various claims/enquiries including class actions, ASIC investigations and liquidator investigations.

Defending Federal Court class action proceedings commenced by Slater + Gordon on behalf of investors against Vasco Trustees Limited, the trustee of the IPO Wealth Fund which was operated by the Mayfair101 group, in respect of misleading and deceptive conduct claims by the investors seeking recovery of funds invested in the collapsed IPO Wealth Fund.
